ADDITIONAL GRANT OPPORTUNITIES

The Phil Hardin Foundation also offers other grant opportunities supporting  professional renewal and development for Mississippi educators. Described in the following pages, these programs are:

•   Earthwatch Institute: The S.A. Rosenbaum Mississippi Teaching Fellows

The Earthwatch Institute of Maynard, Massachusetts, provides S.A. Rosenbaum Teaching Fellowships to Mississippi educators for international Earthwatch Expeditions. Through these expeditions, educators have the opportunity to work with leading research scholars and to experience different cultures and geographical/political areas of the world.

•    Mount Vernon Ladies’ Association of the Nation: The George Washington Scholars Program

The association offers eight to twelve Mississippi K-12 teachers the opportunity to participate in the George Washington Scholars Program, a residential seminar offered at Mount Vernon. This outreach program for teachers immerses them in the character and historical context of George Washington, and gives them the classroom resources to make his achievements and the founding history of the nation exciting and relevant to their students.
