WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN PROPOSALS

Solicited and unsolicited proposals will be considered according to nine criteria:

1.     Improvement of student achievement.  The “bottom line” in this proposal and any educational endeavor is to              improve student learning.

2.     Research.  The proposal is based on research that shows the plan, if implemented properly, has a reasonable             chance of success.

3.     Achievable implementation.  The proposal provides evidence of the grantee’s capacity to carry out the plan             effectively.

4.     Collaboration. The proposal cites whether and what other agencies will be  involved in the implementation of              the plan.

5.     Cost effectiveness.  The proposal explains carefully how the plan has been conservatively budgeted to achieve               maximum effectiveness.

6.     Sustainability:  The proposal describes whether and how the plan activity will be maintained once the grant has              been expended.

7.     Replicability and scale:  The proposal tests potential good ideas that could benefit others, explains whether other              sites might be able to adopt or adapt those ideas, and considers how many sites are likely to implement the              ideas.

8.     Assessment:  The proposal explains how the planned outcomes will be measured.

9.     Dissemination:  The proposal cites how the results of the plan will be publicized to others.
